Our annual trip to Italy is an immersion into the best of the Tuscan region. We have spent many years traveling to this location and handpicking the experiences that encompass the joy of life “la vita è bella “ Italians reserve. We work with wonderful hosts who welcome us into their beautiful Tuscan home and provide our retreat participants with an authentic taste of the Italian culture. This retreat is a focus on your true well being with a solid agenda encompassing the magnificent beauty of Tuscany.
Each day begins practicing yoga in the on-site yoga studio. At the villa we feast on a fabulous Italian breakfast with homemade cappuccinos and Americanos upon request before leaving to explore small towns and the beautiful countryside with other inspired travelers. We created the structure of this retreat to include a photographer who travels with the group to capture the magnitude of beauty through her lens. This allows our travelers to be truly present and appreciate every moment without having to unload your own personal camera. Our photographers knowledge is also shared if you want help to find the right lighting and aperture for the many unique old structures that we come across in our travels. At the end of the retreat all edited pictures are shared to commemorate the experience.
Christy has been hooked on yoga since 1995. She stumbled upon it while backpacking through Africa and it provided her with a sense of arriving home in her own body and soul – a new place she found she could access no matter where she was in her own personal journey. To her, yoga is an awe inspiring personal journey that deepens and transforms one’s relationship to their unique inner truths. As a teacher, she strives to keep her classes fun, upbeat, and always evolving. Her passion is to combine strength and movement with gentle guidance linking the breath to each and every movement. In 2010 she created Yoga on The Rock offering daily classes on Madeline Island. She believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or physical limitations – if you can breath you can do yoga.
